CHILD: NOELIA NUNES
Noelia Nunes is a young girl who lives with her parents and 11 siblings in Turon, Manufahi Municipality.
Currently she is a student in grade 4 at the EBF 1 2 Turon School. Before going to the school she helps her parents and siblings to prepare the breakfast.
Everyday she walks to school with her siblings and friends.
Noelia has received each edition for he Lafaek Prima magazine. She never forgets to put the Lafaek Prima in her bag before go to school.
Noelia said that before receiving the Lafaek magazine, she didn’t know much about natural science, especially the topics related to environment, such as the technique of planting trees, the impact of cutting the trees and other environmental issues. She often heard her parents talking about the bad impact of cutting tress, but she didn’t understand.
“Before receiving the Lafaek Prima Magazine, I don’t know how to protect our environment, me and my friends liked to cut the small trees in street and around the house”.
When she started receiving the Lafaek Prima magazines, she read the stories about protecting our enviroment, and she ask her parents and teacher to explain these to her so that she could understand better.
“I read the stories about Ajai falling, because the soil was very soft. It’s happen because people cut all the trees”.
Noela thanks the Lafaek Prima magazines for all the information that she has learned and she also promises that she will not be cutting the trees and will share this information with her other friends as well.
Although she is still in grade 4, Noela has a dream that she would like to fulfill – she wants to become a police officer to maintain peace in Timor-Leste.
